Commissioning of Patongo Chief Magistrate's Court and Launch of Patongo High Court

UPCOMING JUDICIARY EVENT: COMMISSIONING OF PATONGO COURTS SET FOR MAY 12, 2025
Patongo, Uganda – May 7, 2025 — The Judiciary of Uganda is set to mark a significant milestone in the advancement of justice delivery with the upcoming commissioning of the Patongo Chief Magistrate’s Court and the official launch of the Patongo High Court.

Scheduled for Monday, May 12, 2025, at 8:00 AM, the event will take place at the Patongo High Court Grounds, drawing the attention of national leaders, legal practitioners, civil society, and the local community.

The Chief Guest for the occasion will be Hon. Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo, the Chief Justice of Uganda, who will lead the ceremony under the theme:
“Enhancing Judicial Accountability and Access to Justice.”

This initiative represents a bold step forward in bringing justice closer to the people, particularly in rural and previously underserved regions. The establishment of these courts is expected to ease the burden on overextended judicial centers while ensuring that residents of Patongo and neighboring areas can access timely and fair legal services.
