Rwot Ocan Jimmy Luwala Leads Historic Mediation Effort to Unite Ker Kwaro Acoli

Gang Kal Madit, 10 March 2025 – In a landmark effort to restore unity and harmony among the Acoli people, His Royal Highness Rwot Ocan Jimmy Luwala, the traditional leader of Puranga Chiefdom, led a high-profile mediation delegation to Ker Kwaro Acoli, Gang Kal Madit. This historic visit marks a crucial step toward resolving the ongoing challenges within Ker Kwaro Acoli and fostering a united front for peace and development.

The mediation meeting, held with Lawirwodi Rwot Onen David Acana II, follows Rwot Ocan’s New Year’s message dated 23 January 2025, in which he called upon traditional leaders to embrace unity as a foundation for progress. In his letter, he formally requested an audience to explore possible solutions to the internal crises at Ker Kwaro Acoli.

During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed that dialogue remains the most effective and sustainable approach to addressing disputes and ensuring a stable future for the Acoli people. The engagement was marked by a spirit of reconciliation, with all parties agreeing to work collectively in strengthening cultural leadership.

Historically, Ker Puranga has played a pivotal role in mediation across Acoliland and neighboring communities. This latest initiative reaffirms its long-standing commitment to conflict resolution and unity, reinforcing the traditional values that define Acoli heritage.

The mediation process is expected to continue, with further engagements aimed at cementing lasting peace and strengthening Ker Kwaro Acoli as the custodian of Acoli identity, culture, and development.
