Gen Kainerugaba Calls for African Unity in Lecture to RDF Officers

Musanze, Rwanda — Col. Deo Akiki has reported that the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has called on African militaries to overcome obstacles hindering military cooperation, underscoring its vital role in fostering regional stability and continental unity.

Delivering a keynote lecture to senior military officers at the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Command and Staff College in Musanze district, Gen Kainerugaba pointed to persistent regional conflicts and underdevelopment as key barriers to military collaboration across the continent.

In his address, the Ugandan military leader urged officers to adopt a broader, Pan-African perspective that transcends national borders. He emphasized the need for mechanisms that strengthen regional cooperation, promote human security, and deepen international partnerships with Africa’s traditional allies.

Gen Kainerugaba’s message comes at a time when African nations continue to face complex security challenges that require unified approaches. His call for solidarity and collaboration resonated strongly with the officers in attendance, signaling a renewed commitment to building lasting peace and stability in the region.
