Col. Chris Magezi Appointed Acting Defence Public Information Officer

Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) has appointed Colonel Chris Magezi as the Acting Defence Public Information Officer (DDPIO). This temporary assignment comes as Major General Felix Kulayigye takes a one-month leave.

The appointment was made by Major General Jack Bakasumba, Chief of Joint Staff UPDF, signaling continuity in the UPDF’s public communication strategy. Col. Magezi, who also serves as the Military Assistant to Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is expected to oversee the office’s operations during this period.

This move ensures a seamless flow of military communications to the public and media stakeholders. The UPDF has reassured the public of continued transparency and timely updates on defence matters.
