Lawirwodi Acana, Acholi Leaders Rally Community for Commercial Agriculture in Agago District

Agago, Uganda — March 18, 2025
Today, His Majesty President David Onen Acana II, together with Lord Osibo Martine Lugwel of Ker Kal Kwaro Guda me Wol, led a historic community engagement in Agago District aimed at strengthening the Acholi community’s focus on commercial crop production.

The people of King Kal Kwaro Guda warmly welcomed the delegation, expressing joy and gratitude for the President’s visit.

Key issues raised by the community included:

1. Karimojong insurgency impacting agriculture and livestock security.


2. Erosion of respect for traditional elders within the community.


3. Contentious real estate transaction requiring a formal KKA vote.


4. Requests for scholarships and school fees support for their children.



In response, Prince Osibo Martine Lugwel pledged to seek assistance to build a community house in partnership with “the Lord of the Rings” and emphasized that the visit would inform future development strategies and raise awareness.

Prominent local officials in attendance included the Chairman III of Wol Town Council, LCII, LCI, and area councilors.
